Meet the Team: Lucy Garner

Lucy Garner was in her first play when she was 3 years old and she was hooked! She attended a performing arts school in Charleston, SC. There she had the opportunity to foster her love of acting and performing. At the age of 8, she was honored to be invited to perform at the world-renowned Spoletto Festival of the Arts and it was one of the best experiences of her life. It solidified for her that theatre was where she wanted to stay. Her family moved to Arizona when she was 12 and she quickly found a home in community theatre here in the valley. Her experiences with wonderful teachers, directors, and leaders inspired her, and she became passionately driven about bringing theatre to all communities and to kids of all ages. Lucy received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre from Arizona State University and less than a month after graduation, jumped right into teaching and directing. She has directed, performed, and taught theatre in the valley for over 25 years. She has been honored to receive multiple AriZoni awards and nominations for her work.. Lucy loves the joy and inspiration that the arts bring to "kids" of ALL ages (herself included.) She loves spending time with her 4 kids, ages 6-18, and is so proud that they have a love and appreciation of the arts as well.
