Which acting course is right for your child?

INTRO TO ACTING
Ages: 5-8
This class is especially designed for youngsters who are excited to learn about the world around them. Acting teaches a child about empathy, discipline, and how to work in a group. Whether your child has an outgoing, or a more reserved personality, any child can benefit from early training in acting.
INTRO TO THEATRE (HOMESCHOOL)
Ages: 8+
Although anyone is welcome to attend this class, we have designed it specifically to our homeschooled families. This class was easily created to drop in and out of based on a family's schedule. You may drop in to any of our classes for only $15. Acting teaches a child about empathy, discipline, and how to work in a group. Whether your child has an outgoing, or a more reserved personality, any child can benefit from early training in acting.
BEGINNING MUSICAL THEATRE
Ages: 8-13
No experience necessary! In this class students will be introduced to a basic overview of all the elements found in musical theatre (acting, singing, and dancing).
ACTING 1
Ages: 8+
In this class students will gain a basic knowledge of theatre terminology through the study and practice of acting skills. Students will build self-confidence not only at their next audition, but throughout their daily life.
ACTING 2
Ages: 12+
Building on the skills students learned in Acting 1, this class will expand those skills by putting them into practice through monologue and scene work.
ADVANCED ACTING
Ages: 10+ with a year of experience
Students in this class must have at least one year of previous acting experience, either in class or on stage. In this class students will explore advanced acting technique and script analysis.
YOUNGER ENCORE
Ages: 6-11
Be in a show with no audition required! This program is designed for kids to get the experience of being in a show without all the hassle and anxiety of auditions. Everyone who signs up gets a featured role. Students will learn about the rehearsal and production process at a slower pace while working with a director, choreographer and music director.
ENCORE
Ages: 12-18
Be in a show with no audition required! This program is designed for kids to get the experience of being in a show without all the hassle and anxiety of auditions. Everyone who signs up gets a featured role. Students will learn about the rehearsal and production process while working with a director, choreographer and music director. A great way to build your resume and to get theatre experience.
IMPROV (OFF THE CUFF)
Ages: 10+
Students in this class must have general understanding of theatre either through class or production. In this class students will learn and develop improvisational skills. Improv is an important skill for any actor at any level. Students will be selected from this class to perform for an audience throughout the semester with our improv performance troupe, "Off the Cuff".

BEGINNING SINGING
Ages: 8+
No experience necessary! Students will learn the basics of vocal technique (breath support, placement, and musicality). Students will build on their confidence and grow as singers and performers.
ACTING THROUGH SONG
Ages: 10+
Students will use technical acting skills (intention, tactic, etc.) and apply them to songs they are working on throughout the semester. Help strengthen your song performing ability.

Get moving with Dance!

INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED JAZZ
Ages: 10+
This class will build on the skills and terminology learned in Beginning Jazz. Students will practice more advanced technique and choreography.
INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED TAP
Ages: 8+
This class will build on the skills and terminology learned in Beginning Tap. Students will practice more advanced technique and choreography.

ALL STYLES DANCE
Ages: 10+
Students in this class will explore a new style of dance each week. These styles could range from belly dancing to hip-hop, modern to ballet, and everything in between. A previous general knowledge of dance may be helpful, but not required.
BEGINNING JAZZ
Ages: 8+
No experience necessary! This is an introductory class in jazz dance terminology and technique. Most musicals are based in jazz style dance.
BEGINNING TAP
Ages: 8+
No experience necessary! Learn the basic terminology and skills found in tap dancing. Tap choreography uses these basic steps in more advanced ways, so having a strong grasp of the basics is essential.
Dress Code
Our general dress code policy for all classes is CLOSED TOED TENNIS SHOES, and loose fitting, non-restrictive clothing that promotes movement, but is not revealing. A more specific dress code may be communicated by instructors during your first weeks of class. Tap shoes are required for tap classes.
